REHEARSAL. Over 100 local youths make up the cast of HUB productions’ Willy Wonka Junior, based on the novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The cast is in full rehearsal mode, preparing for the play’s opening May 22 at Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre in Bracebridge.

Oompa-Loompas, chocolate galore and five lucky children who have been swept into a whirlwind adventure; who could ask for more? Based on Roald Dahl’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, HUB Productions is thrilled to present to you Willy Wonka Junior.

Every child admires — and eats — the work of Mr. Willy Wonka. Then, one day out of the blue, he starts putting Golden Tickets into his chocolate bars. There are only five tickets, each of which entitles the bearer to one full day in Mr. Wonka’s chocolate-y world.

The world goes berserk. The five tickets are found in no time. One goes to a little girl with a big sharing problem; one to a boy hopelessly addicted to his TV; one to a girl whose competitive edge is just a tad too sharp; another to a boy whose eyes and stomach both need a little slimming and the last to Charlie, a little boy with no money but lots of hope.

One hundred and ten local youths are participating in the show, and they ask you to join them Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 at 7 p.m., or Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25 at 1 p.m. at Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre for this exciting and memorable musical adventure. All tickets are just $10 and available at the Rene Caisse Theatre box office, (705) 645-8400.
